We have been importing customer's cars and our own cars from the USA since 1996, although we have been importing parts from the USA since 1989. We specialise in the location and transportation of your car to a sea port on the West Coast of the USA ( Seattle Washington ) and shipment to South Australia. We minimise risk of damage by loading cars in a safe and secure way. If you find your own car in the USA ( via E-bay or web site or newspaper / magazine advertisement) we can provide advice , payment and transportation options for importation We can arrange the collection of your car in any location in the USA and then transport it to Seattle Washington USA. We can organise for the purchase and payment of your car via a legal officer in the USA with validation of the Certificate of Title ( ownership ) of the car by the seller. We utilise bonded ( insured ) car hauling services in the USA to provide transport. We can also offer secure , safe, insured storage ( bonded warehouse ) of your vehicle before shipment up to one month or longer at $ 75 USD per month. We offer a fixed price written quotation to ship your car ......there are NO hidden charges once your car arrives or when you collect the car. The import approval for a vehicle, motorcycle or trailer is in your name. - If you are seeking comparisons with other importers in Australia ask how many cars and what type of cars/ objects will be in the container with your car .......how will it be loaded , and how will it be unloaded !!!! We are all about risk minimisation from initial purchase to landing of your investment safely in Australia. Price Structure Our service fee to ship a vehicle from USA to South Australia is of the following: $ 4,428.50 Australian Dollars including GST for our service fee. ( effective from 1/12/08) That is the price of one car shipped in a 40 foot container with another customer's car. Does not include any fuel surcharge levy if applied or any increase in container rates if applied which will be ain addition to the above service fee. We only ship two cars in a 40 foot container. We seek approval from the customer if they want their car or boat to travel with another car or other cars in a container...it is the customer's choice. Our price includes the following : - Load , block, brace of the car into shipping container by US experienced packing company - Clearance of car for export by US Customs Service - Export Documentation - Drayage of container to wharf - Customs Brokerage and Clearance - SeaFreight from USA to Australia - All Australian Port Charges and shipping entry fees, agency fees etc. - Initial Australian Customs and Australian Quarantine Inspection Service inspection - Unloading of car Important: Additional Charges May Apply Theses charges if applied will be at cost - Import approval from the Federal Department of Transport ( DOTARS) in Australia $ 50.00 AUD.The import approval will be in your name and not American Hemi Speed Centre's name. - Re- inspection by Australian Customs and Australian Quarantine Inspection if the car fails initial inspection - Evacuation of R12 refrigerant from air conditioning system if required. - Insurance cover is available. See our page on insurance cover. See the link below. For " Total Loss " insurance cover the fee is 1% of USD purchase value. The cost of " All Risk " cover is 1.5% of USD purchase value. - Australian Customs Duty will be payable depending upon the age of the vehicle - PLEASE NOTE : Goods and Services Tax ( GST ) is payable on transport cost less sea freight cost plus purchase price value of your car and insurance when it arrives in Australia. The GST component is 10 % . It is based at the exchange rate of the AUD to USD at time of discharge from USA. See Australian Customs website for further information. - Transport of your car from another state in the USA to Seattle Washington is extra- Quotations can be obtained. - Transport of your car from South Australia to your State is extra For Example : ( for an operable car ) : Car from SA to Victoria : $ 300 AUD Car from SA to New South Wales : $ 500 to $ 700 AUD Car from SA to Queensland : $ 600 to $ 800 AUD Car from SA to Perth : $ 800 to $ 1000 AUD. Costs of transport for an in-operable vehicle sent interstate can also be provided. Cleaning or fumigation charges are not included. These are charged at cost if applicable. Detention or storage charges are applicable at times as levied by the shipping line or landing agency if there are delays in unloading or returning the container to a shipping line.These costs are applied at direct cost apportioned to customers. Please Note: We also ship ski boats, RV's , 5th wheel trailers, cargo trailers, jet ski's , machinery, plant and equipment, etc. Sales References We can supply sales references for any of the items we have imported for customers. Up to 70% of our business is from repeat customers or their referrals to friends, or other car enthusiasts. IMPORTANT : There are restrictions related to the importation of cars that have a build date after the 31st of December 1988. PLEASE NOTE: EFFECTIVE FROM the 14th of February 2008 we have decided to no longer ship to Brisbane Queensland, because of the fees and charges being applied for storage, container slot booking fees and cleaning. Containers to Port Adelaide, South Australia are always dependent upon the number of cars to be sent to that port based on number of vehicles scheduled to be shipped at that time. IMPORTANT : We DO NOT ship a vehicle from the USA until an Import Approval from DOTARS has been obtained................NO exceptions. Cleanliness of vehicles - We sometimes reject the transport of cars from USA to Australia if they are not in a clean state. If we ship a car and land a car in Australia and Australian Quarantine Inspection Service ( AQIS ) assesses the car as failing quarantine entry it can be directed ( exported) back to the USA by the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service. As a result full export costs will be at the customer's cost if a vehicle is sent back to the USA. |
